This is part 5 in a series of related blog posts. You may want to start at the beginning.
So, after our spectacular hangout at the parade, we watched fireworks, and then we made a few fireworks of our own. Ahem.. if you know what I mean. ??
Then Shalauna returned home to the Big Apple.
We spent most of the next week with our phones glued to our faces. We talked, and talked, and talked some more. We were instant best friends and it felt like we’d known each other for years. Could we make a long distance relationship work? We weren’t sure, but we had to try!
We spent the next six months flying back and forth, between New York and Utah, every few weeks. For us, being separated by more than two-thousand miles forced us to get to know each other on a deep level very quickly. We spent hours on the phone every day talking about anything and everything. We couldn’t get enough! And we cherished the days we spent together in NYC and Utah that much more after spending weeks apart.
Ok, so you get the picture (pun intended). We were having a lot of good times together.
