I am pleased to formally announce the happy arrival of our son, Zachary Jason Waters! He arrived safe and sound on Saturday, March 23 at 7:20pm.

This photo was captured just after Zac met his mommy for the first time. Priceless. His mom looking so beautiful even after 3 exhausting hours of pushing, and Zac showing his grumpy face – after all, being born is hard work!
It’s been a crazy 4 days, and boy are we exhausted. But it has been so fun getting to know our little guy and learning to care for him – we are getting the hang of it.
Lucky for us, we were able to switch our bodies into hyper-efficiency mode. So now we only require 1-2 hours of sleep at night. This pretty much allows us to be super-parents.
Shalauna and I make a great pit crew. Every time he wakes up in the night, it’s as if his car pulled into the pit stop at the raceway and we jump up and work as fast and efficiently as possible to fix the flat and get him back on the road. It’s fun and I’m so lucky to have such a remarkable wife to lead the way in this adventure.
When he’s not sleeping, Zac is so alert and curious. He is always looking around wondering what’s coming up next. We love just staring at him and finding facial features that we think is like each of ours. What a miracle it is to create a new little human that looks and acts like us right out the gate.
We are overjoyed to welcome the very first skinny person into our family! Weighing in at just 6 lbs 8 oz and 17.5 inches long. I hope he’s ready to share his health and fitness secrets to the rest of the rad fam!

When we saw Zac during ultrasounds, he always had his hands up by his face. After birth, he still prefers to keep his hands by his face or above his head like seen in this adorable photo.
Fun facts about Zac
Face: adorable
Preferred sleeping position: On his side, hands up. When we really want him to sleep, we wrap him tight like a burrito and secure his hands to his chest with super glue.
Favorite thing to do: Lay by daddy on the bed. Yes, he does sleep in a bassinet most of the time, but he sleeps best on Mom and Dad’s king size bed. Something about the high thread count really does it for him.
Second favorite thing to do: Yawn and look adorable as can be.
Least favorite thing to do: Get his diaper changed.
What I have to say can all be summed up in one, big, AHHHHH!
He is so cute!
Welcome, Zac! He is so precious and I am loving all his hair. Way to go, you two!
Love it! Shalauna, how do you look so good right after having a baby?! I seriously looked like I had been hit by a bus.
